A toast to tradition: The Twelve Grapes

At our South Kensington, London Bridge, Soho, and Richmond locations, we invite you to join in a cherished Spanish tradition: the twelve lucky grapes. As the clock strikes 11 PM (midnight in Spain), we’ll gather to eat one grape for each chime of the clock – twelve bongs, twelve grapes, twelve wishes.

This custom, which began in the early 1900s with a bountiful grape harvest in southern Spain, has grown into a beloved ritual celebrated across town squares and festive gatherings. At Brindisa, we embrace this tradition as a symbol of luck, love, and prosperity.

So, join us for a festive toast with cava and be part of this joyful moment as we welcome the New Year together.
